UNITED KINGDOM
MSN 1821: Approved Medical Practitioners (Approved Doctors) with effect from 1 September 2009
This Notice updates all previous lists of Medical Practitioners, Companies and Healthcare Providers approved by the MCA to conduct ENG1 examinations, and Medical Referees appointed to carry out seafarer medical reviews.

MGN 399 (M): Prevention of infectious disease at sea by immunisations and anti-malaria medication (prophylaxis)
This guidance note and its annexes provide information and recommendations on how to obtain appropriate immunisations against infectious diseases likely to be encountered by seafarers, medication for protection against malaria, and other important information on the treatment of malaria.

MIN 361 (M+F): Maritime Safety Information - participation in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Voluntary Observing Ships' (VOS) Scheme
This Notice draws attention to a Circular issued by the IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC.1/Circ 1293), which promotes the collection of meteorological data by voluntary observing ships at sea, which is supported by the MCA. The Circular provides information about the Voluntary Observing Ships’ (VOS) Scheme and encourages shipowners, operators and managers to offer their ships to participate.

MGN 401 (M+F): Navigation: Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) and Local Port Services (LPS) in the United Kingdom
This guidance note is to amplify the international definitions of Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) in the UK national context, and to assist Statutory Harbour Authorities in the implementation of a new VTS or the review of an existing VTS.
